Elder P. Santos with Cuz Cuz & Old Bay-gotta combine the Nordeste with the Chesapeake! haha
Hey all!
This message will a bit more brief. I wanted to comment on a few stories a heard from members here that I found quite impressive.
There is one sister here who is shop owner. She remarked to us, Elder, it´s incredible, but I didn´t need to read the Book of Mormon or anything like that to receive a testimony of the church. I walked into the classes after the sacrament meeting, and Éu ja sabia o que estava sendo ensinado alli´or, I already knew what was being taught there´I knew that it was true. I quite my job and got another with half the salary so I could attend church every Sunday. Elder, I have seen many things over the years and many imperfect people, but I can´t deny the witness of the truth I received-for this, I´m still here today.
We also had a very spiritual day yesterday in the Iputinga ward. One speaker gave a talk about how he was an example for his family (the rest being non-members) and by sharing from time to time The Book of Mormon, and following the spirit, his mom was eventually baptized. His brother was a bit more difficult.
He usually mocked the church and sacred things and such, but one day during lunch, he felt the distinct impression from the Spirit that he should talk to his brother about the gospel-which he promptly ignored 3 times until he heard a voice saying ´Fale para ele sobre o evangelho AGORA porque Eu estou mandando!` In that moment he went to his brother, and again, like all the other times before, he presented the restored gospel to his brother, and this time-his brother listened and received a witness of the truth, and could not deny it. A bit afterwards his brother was baptized.-it was quite a spiritual story. He then went on to talk about the responsibility of the members to find references for the missionaries-always a plus!
