Week 64 - I really want to play the piano

2/6/17

By the way church yesterday was pretty good-Irma Katya talked to me and said, Èlder, vamos sentir tua falta cuando voce
for transferido, a musica que voce toca traz um espirito tao forte`or Elder, we´re going to miss you when you are transferred, the music you play brings a spirit that is so strong.

Afterwards, Eudardo, ahh, you play the piano really well! Me-where you there? Him, ´nao, eu soube´/I found out (people told me haha)

And Johnny came up running to me, and said, Elder, I did as you said and cut my nails, I really want to play the piano! I noticed what you said was true, it really does interfere with the piano when you have long nails, hahahhahaha

We also had a story of one person from a ward that works for a super rich family in rather large house in a neighborhood called Prado. Anyway, nearly everyone that enters the house and that stays there for a while swears that the house is haunted-that the way the family lives invites evil spirits, etc. When the family comes home and she asks who was throwing a tantrum they so that no one else was in the house, etc. And the family members and various guests hear banging on doors and on the banister and doors opening and slamming. And when the member here mentions it (she´s a maid émpregada there), the owners get mad and tell her that she´ll  scare the guests away if she´s open about these things. Anyway, her daughter recently subsituted for her this week, and barely lasted one day. She said she was cleaning on the second or third floor, and heard various doors start to bang, footsteps etc. and she started to sing , If I remember correctly, the Lord is my Shepherd, and she said that an incredibly peace came over here, and she wasn´t afraid anymore and was able to make through the day. (Her first and last day there haha). It was another testimony to me of the power of sacred music.
  • 1. The Lord is my Shepherd; no want shall I know.
I feed in green pastures; safe-folded I rest.
He leadeth my soul where the still waters flow,
Restores me when wand'ring, redeems when oppressed,
Restores me when wand'ring, redeems when oppressed.
  • 2. Thru the valley and shadow of death though I stray,
Since thou art my Guardian, no evil I fear.
Thy rod shall defend me, thy staff be my stay.
No harm can befall with my Comforter near.
No harm can befall with my Comforter near.
  • 3. In the midst of affliction my table is spread.
With blessings unmeasured my cup runneth o'er.
With perfume and oil thou anointest my head.
Oh, what shall I ask of thy providence more?
Oh, what shall I ask of thy providence more?
