So to talk briefly about what happened this week.
We taught Marcello who was very happy to find out we celebrate Christmas (cade o Espirito de Natal?-I´m on the same page. And here , since Christmas isn´t nearly as huge as in America, people are more receptive to going to church on Christmas day. He also expressed how he like people could express what they were feeling in church (testimony meeting) and said he was seeing ´si ele encaixa la)
During lunch one member was talking about an unfortunate experience he had and I commented, `Se lascou nao foi?) and they started laughing and commented E muito engracadao ouvir voces falar asi`
Also, one sister yesterday from church got all interested in music and piano and started talking to me-would be nice if it were more established here. Lots of people have the interest, but the infrastructure and incentive is lacking.
Pretty excited for Christmas, we´ll see what happens.
On a newsroom note, the police in Pernambuco went on strike ( I didn´t even know that could happen-the people here to me Ít´s Brazil Elder Talentino haha) and so that state government called in the military forces and marines to patrol the streets to maintain public order. So right now there are a bunch of military forces ], at least in the more urban areas.
We also had a moment with one investigator Claudia, who wasn´t baptized because she wasn´t legally married, but then remarked, `Quem sabe si eu vou ser batizada ainda?` Who knows if I´ll be baptized yet? Then said she adored going to church when she was younger, but then gave up with the marriage requirement for baptism. Hopefully she´ll be able to progress with other members of her family. We also had a cool moment with one investigator, Sonia, who was going to the hospital, but said, come in, I´m in a bit of a hurry, but it´s always good to hear À palavra de Deus`-a phrase people say a lot here.
One of our investigators really likes Pokemon and some other games and was telling us all about it-and
me, yeah, uhuh, yes, I actually really am connecting with you right now haha
Handels reopened! Dreams do come true!
Woah, you tell me dreams come true and then WildWater Kingdom closes? An array of emotions. Why is it so hard to keep good things open? Maybe it will reopen.
My new companion´s name is Elder Strohmayer-he´s from Sao Paulo with a German name. Everyone here looks at him confused and say slowly, Are you....American? Not processing the false advertising. Our ward might actually be closing and merged with other wards ,we´ll see next year. Life is normal, if you´re Brazilian haha
