Week 57 Call center Prayer

12/12/16

This week had a lot of changes in the district. Elder Paez and Elder Sanhueza went home ( I will try to get pictures from other people because I did not have my camera at the time!). And a lot of people were transferred. My new companion is Elder Strohmayer.

We had some interesting experiences this week. We talked to Michelle a bit more, and she showed us the pamphlet of The Plan of Salvation with the 3 kingdoms of glory, and exclaimed, What, is this? We went on to explain and asked her to which kingdom she would like to go, she asked Àm I going to answer you the way most people answer you? and then she said Èu gostaria o lugar eu merecesse`or, Ì would like the place I deserved`Then she went on, I understand, but I have a hard time accepting these things. When we went to the scripture in 1 Corinthians I said, 1st Corinthinas chapter 15, then she cut off and said `verses 40 to 43´I studied! Which truly was impressive, doesn´t happen often with investigators. It´s interesting because she reminds me of that chef in Hell´s Kitchen, when you never know if he´s gonna say something negative or positive but leads you in in the questions and commentaries, kinda funny.

We also had a nice moment with Alex (who´s already reading the book of Jacob), when he was at a party and somebody said, yeah, I didn´t really like the Mormons because they don´t talk about Christ, and neither does their Bible or book or whatever, and then Alex responded, then obviously you didn´t study with them because it talks about Christ,- e muito! haha

We also came across another youth here, Yuri (I found it strange that he has a Slavic name, asked him where he was from-he´s Brazilian), who said Boa tarde to us first! (as a missionary when someone talks to you first it´s usually a good sign) and became very interested in The Book of Mormon and the Restoration. When we taught him in his house he was all, I read the whole pamphlet and showed it to my mom, then Elder Lucero comes in, `Parabens por ser uma pessoa tao legal!`or Congratulations for being such a cool person!`hahaha
Hopefully he will progress.

We also had a funny moment with Marcello, who works in a call center, when he gave the prayer he went ´Pai Celestial, obrigado por mandar esses rapazes, entendeu? E por favor protege esses meninos na missao deles, entendeu?`or `Heavenly Father, thank you for sending these youth, did you understand? Please protect them in their mission, did you understand?` Then I thought, his job is really getting to his head, but what a sweet prayer.

We also had a Brazil wide conference yesterday where church authorities from the US, Argentina, and Brazil spoke, it was really funny because Elder Holland began to speak in Portuguese, and then stopped, and said my Portuguese is just too terrible, I´m going to let the translator talk now, and all of us laughing, Óbrigado!
